SINGER:
The Conqueror of the Crowd
“So she poured out the liquid music of
her voice to quench the thirst of his spirit.” ~Nathaniel
Hawthorne
Music soothes everyone’s heart, mind and soul. It really
captivates one’s attention leading a person to relaxation and imagination.
Researchers say that musicians have longer life than of an ordinary person. Their
lives depend on the notes they establish since music means big in their lives,
it becomes a part of it. One expresses
his thoughts, feelings and emotions through singing. I, myself did and still
doing it too. I want actually to be a singer, a famous and be one of those best
singers someday. I like playing with music and singing—my passion, my sister in
all situations of my life.
Looking into the deeper sense of the profession, everyone
is a singer in his own perspective but not all could be a professional one. There
are protocols, requirements that one should comply to achieve the totality of
the profession. Some of the factors that require an individual to become a
singer are trainings and his abilities. Trainings in the said field are a tough
thing to do. One should be a keen listener to the trainer, a good trainee and
does what must to be done. During the training, one acquires a skill and be
able to apply it after the said activity. Education is one of the key factors
of trainings. If the school provides a subject exclusively for music, then it’s
a basic foundation of a person in the field of singing. In that way, he learns,
builds and develops the ability and skills in singing.
Moreover, it’s very advantageous to an individual who had
an innate ability and skills in singing. All they have to do is to enhance what
they have and enrol themselves to an exclusive school for music. Singers of
today’s generation have these and they are indeed lucky. They make gain fans,
make money and enjoy life by entertaining the crowd with music. Others just
joined an international singing contest just to establish their innate skills
and some of them are Jessica Sanchez and Philip Philips. Another thing I’m
interested most about singing and governed me to aspire as a singer is the
money or the salary of it. To be a professional one is tough but it’s worth it
when it comes to money convenience.
Singers are
generally paid by the performance. The rates they earn vary depending on a
number of factors, including employer, experience, reputation, and the type of
performance for which they are hired. An
international performer’s salary may vary from an ordinary singer. Most likely,
the salary ranges less than $20,000 a year, while others make more than $100,000. That’s really motivating. Let’s take an
example calculation from an author of an article about singers: For instance, fees for singers who perform at
weddings and similar events usually start at about $100 for those with little
experience, while an established and reputable singer can earn more than $1,000
per event. Unionized opera singers have their minimum pay rates negotiated for
them by performers’ unions. They can earn upwards of $1,000 a week. Is it big? Now, tell me who doesn’t want to
aspire to be one of the singers?
Lastly, considering those students out
there who are aspiring singers (professional singers) like me, bear in mind
that education is one of the keys to open your dreams to reality. Educational
requirements depend on the type of music you want to pursue. If you want to be
an opera singer, you generally need years of formal training. Popular singers
do not necessarily need formal training, but it can be extremely helpful. Start
by taking music classes in high school, and, if possible, by taking private
voice lessons outside of school. After high school, you can train at the
post-secondary level. Music programs are offered by universities, colleges, and
private institutes across the country. Many of these programs offer
specializations in vocal performance, and some even provide training in a
specific style of music, such as opera or jazz. They usually take between 2 and
4 years to complete, and lead to a diploma or degree. Applicants may be
required to pass an entrance audition. The only things you have to rest assure
is your pocket, time and effort to do such tasks in singing.
Therefore, professional singers are
one of the toughest but highest paid workers in the world. Seek for your
passion, pursue it and enjoy it.
